The Music of Jeff Cook (Eich)

"Inspiring...highly impressive for his clear rhythms, sonorous melodies and inventive harmonies...high qualities as a musician and composer...working with him on recording or other projects would meet the highest professional standards." - Jonas Vilimas, Deputy Director of the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra

Mr. Cook has been composing music regularly since age 10. He has written two symphonies, two string quartets, numerous piano works, an oboe concerto and hundreds of other works over the years.

He first began playing in rock and alternative rock groups as a teen and is currently working on an alternative rock album for a band he founded a few years back strictly for live performances named, The Pangs. The Pangs (with new members) are now recording a 12 song album with Jeff Cook as singer/songwriter under the stage name Jeff Eich (the name "Jeff Cook" is already popularized by the group Alabama and there just ain't no getting around that. Our Mr. Cook is descended from the Eich lineage on his father's side, so it seems a decent fit.

The Pangs website and album are due to be published in the coming months, and are laying low for now. We will link this site to that when it's live. But influences for the album are primarily harder retro post-punk, such as Bauhaus, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Damned and Sisters of Mercy, and there are subtler, but still obvious influences from 90's-style Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails.

It should be mentioned though that the music is not retro in the least, as the overall sound is surprisingly unique, new millennium and avoids any post-punk cliches, just presenting addictive new songs for a long-loved, multi-generation genre.
